Dr. Steinberg is a New York State licensed psychotherapist and has worked as a private practitioner in Manhattan and Long Island for many years. Her passion is to work with individuals, partners and families to help them improve their relationships with themselves and others in order to improve their lives. She is on the faculty of a works as an Assistant Professor of Sexology at The American Academy of Clinical Sexologists, after working as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Columbia University's Department of Counseling and Clinical Psychology.
Dr. Steinberg completed her graduate training in Counseling Psychology at NYU and furthered her Psychotherapy training in Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), both shown to be the most effective forms of therapy, at the esteemed Albert Ellis Institute in New York. To better understand and treat the wide variety of issues related to relationships, partnering and human sexuality, she sought specialized post-graduate training at the American Academy of Clinical Sexologists and is a Board Certified Clinical Sexologist. She earned her undergraduate years at the Johns Hopkins University.
Dr. Steinberg has many years of experience treating individuals, couples and families with concerns about relationships, depression, anxiety and low self-esteem. Her work with individuals and couples in both traditional and alternative relationships is confidential and without discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation or any other factor. She has professional experience working with patients of all ages and a multitude of ethnic backgrounds, remains very active in the Psychotherapy community and regularly contributes to radio, books, articles and blogs.
